That would be fine, Mike. Do you object to my posting this message on
the electronic exchange listserve?

finalized in the next week or so?

How long is the "or so". I think the big issue is handling key
updates. In my opinion, if we consent to mandating telephone
confirmation without much more discussion, it would not go past next
meeting. If we start looking at some of the more creative options, it
may take longer.
>>2. Given that we are revising the Reference Manual for Release 4,
does it makes sense to combine the revised POP3 addendum into the
CompuServe section of the manual? And if yes, I assume we will revise
the manual to permit either CompuServe or POP3, right?
<<
If I understand your question, yes, yes. This is in line with our
very brief discussion last week. Maybe we should talk about this one
in real-time, though.
>>Finally, to help make sure Chapter 9 is technically accurate, would
someone from the EE team be willing to help serve as a technical
reviewer for both Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 (Testing/Certification)?

This seems like a good idea.
Thanks, Mike.

Scott: If time permits on next week's EE call, could you raise the following
questions to the group? Given the ticking clock for Release 4, I need to
get the CompuServe/POP3 issues resolved in the next week or so--if the
Reference Manual is to be on-target for final review at the September
CommonLine meeting. My questions are...
1. Does the group feel that the information in the addendum can be
finalized in the next week or so? If not, we may need to separate the
revision to the addendum from the Release 4 publication. (I was hoping to
fold the addendum into Chapter 9 of the Reference Manual--see Question
2).
2. Given that we are revising the Reference Manual for Release 4, does
it makes sense to combine the revised POP3 addendum into the
CompuServe section of the manual? And if yes, I assume we will revise
the manual to permit either CompuServe or POP3, right?
3. Finally, to help make sure Chapter 9 is technically accurate, would
someone from the EE team be willing to help serve as a technical
reviewer for both Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 (Testing/Certification)?
Thanks,
