=================
1) *EVALUATION TEAM FACILITATOR *
Brian Wilson, of Great Lakes, will act as facilitator of the evaluation team
efforts. His role will be:
a) ensuring products are evaluated with respect to all defined requirements.
b) Coordinating activities among evaluation team members.
c) Compiling an evaluation matrix after evaluations are complete.
2) *PURCHASE NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE
a) RSA DSI (Brian Allison)
Brian and Linda Laub met with Brian Spector of RSA DSI to discuss licensing.
RSA DSI still want to use a boilerplate license, but ewe can tailor it to our
needs. To accommodate the needs of each agency, we can tailor schedules
(different from addenda). Linda is willing to work on a draft boilerplate, but
needs input from legal staffs. This will be a very arduous undertaking.
Therefore, before she undertakes this, we should be clear that we want the
product.
Brian expressed a concern about RSA DSI's commitment to us. They will honor
whatever arrangements we can negotiate, but they have minimal investment in
this. They normally don't deal at this small a volume. Their primary
motivation is to flaunt NAI's failure.
b) AT&T (Tim Hearley)
The question was raised about the installed base. There are some government
contracts. It is associated in some fashion with a NIST standard. The details
of this were vague.
AT&T will present next week.
3) *NEW PRODUCTS TO CONSIDER*
- Entrust (Dawn Harris)
No contact from Entrust after repeated efforts from Dawn. Scott to call them.
- Encrypt
Raised as a possibility. Scott to follow up.
- NAI/PGP
Brian sent an e-mail message to Brian Jackman to initiate discussion with
them. He received no response.
3) *EVALUATION UPDATES (Evaluation Team)*
a)RSA DSI
not much to report.
b) Information Security Corporation/AT&T
There is not sufficient documentation. Tim will request the manual from the
vendor.
