Sounds like a very interesting prospect.  How disruptive would it be to expect 
users to migrate to 32-bit platforms?   Could we have a group package these 
functions in a server that could be disseminated to all SBS developers?

Not an option.

This is our fallback if nothing else works and we still want to leave oldmail 
by May.

The version in which each group creates its own key may be feasible, even 
though key management might be somewhat complex.
